3940464_wlppJudy Faye Benton, 73 passed from this world on October 10, 2016 surrounded by the many people that loved her. She was born August 15, 1943 to James Rufus Jackson and Anna Kathrine Adams in Wolfforth, TX. She graduated high school at Frenship High School in Wolfforth in 1961.

Judy married the love of her life Steven Dale Benton on April 27, 1962 in Wolfforth. Together they ran Benton Plumbing in Brownfield for many years. She also worked at Walmart as a cashier until illness forced her to retire. Judy was a strong loving Christian woman whose love for Christ and her family was evident to all who know her. Her family was her focus and she devoted her life to letting each and every one of them know just how deeply she loved them. All children regardless of how she entered their lives had a special draw to her. She was known as “Memaw” to many more children than just her grands and great-grands. She is preceded in death by her husband Steve and her parents James and Kathrine Jackson.

She is survived by her children Sonya and spouse Kelly Betterton, Steven Benton and Stacy Benton all of Brownfield; grand children Jaython Betterton of Baton Rouge, LA, Alishia Betterton of Monahans, TX, Zak Benton of Wharton, TX, Terra Benton of Lubbock, TX, Aleah Benton of Crosbyton, TX, and Steven Betterton, Kendra Halsell, Morgan Cruz, and Adrian Benton all of Brownfield. She was also the proud great grandmother of 8 great grand children. She is also survived by her sister Anna Kay Fitts of Krum, TX and brothers Rick Jackson of Picayune, MS, and Rudy Jackson of Lacomb, LA.

Services are Friday, October 14, 2016 at 2 pm at Brownfield Funeral Home with graveside services to follow. Brother Chad Fitts of Krum, TX will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Legacy of Love Hospice, 1117 E. Tahoka Rd. in Brownfield or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
