Glenda Faye Cameron

e4726c0f-2322-4db6-85f0-20683848cbafGlenda Faye Cameron of Brownfield, Texas went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2015. Glenda was born in Brownfield on April 24, 1948 to Tom and Belva Cameron and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Brownfield High School, South Plains College, and Texas Tech, where she received her B.S. in Education and Master of Arts. In 1998 and 2002, she was recognized by Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. She was an English and Spanish teacher in Brownfield ISD for thirty years and was an inspiration and mentor to many of her students.

She was one of the creators of the rock group, Rapunzel, which expanded to a company called R.A.D.A.R. Tower that promoted an anti-drug message to students. Most recently, Glenda was a radio talk show host on Town Talk Radio and co-authored
Whatever Happened to Peggy Sue? She enjoyed playing the guitar, rock music, photography, and her beloved pets. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Belva Cameron and two sisters, LaVerne Cameron Marshall and Lillian Cameron Haynes.

She is survived by her niece, Teresa Haynes Hassler; nephew, Joe Don Haynes; niece, Judy Marshall Cole; and great nieces, Haley Robinson, Allison Cole, and Kaitlyn, Ashley, Bailey and Emily Hassler. The family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who helped during Glenda’s illness.
