Glen H. Wilson passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 63 years on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. A tribute of Glen’s life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family. Glen was born on Aug. 20, 1951, to Homer and Rose Tanner Wilson in O’Donnell, Texas. On May 1, 1972, Glen married the love of his life, Christina Koengeter at the First Christian Church in Colorado Spring, CO. Glen was an honorable patriot and served his country for 21 years in the United States Army. He gained extensive knowledge along with many titles throughout his military education. Through his education he attended a First Sergeant Course, Sergeant’s Major Academy, Instructor Training Course, Military Police, Advanced NCO Academy, Drill Sergeant School, Cadre Training Course, and Jungle Operations. While serving he achieved many honors and was decorated with medals, ribbons, and stripes. The honors he received included The National Defense Service Medal with Service Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with Third Leaf Cluster, six Army Good Conduct Medals, Expert Infantry Badge, Army Service Ribbon, four NCO Professional Development Ribbons, three Overseas Service Ribbons, and Expert Badge (Rifle M16). He specialized primarily as First Sergeant, Infantryman, Field Artillery Senior Sergeant, Instructor, and Drill Sergeant. After his 21 years of serving, he was awarded an honorable discharge in Dec. of 1989 from the United States Army. From June 1, 1992 until April 23, 2012, he worked as a Service Supervisor for John Deere and B. E. Implement in Brownfield, Texas. Glen managed the truck fleet, coordinated scheduling and was always on time. He was very productive in the development of service technicians and understood the value of interacting with his fellow team workers. Glen had a high level of product knowledge for John Deere that brought incredible value to the customers in all segments of the business. He had good work ethics, was an honest man, showed great integrity and was always committed. Because of these qualities, Glen will be missed and can never be replaced. Survivors include his wife, Christina Wilson; their children, Shaina Wilson, Deena Wilson, Denise Baker and husband, Andrew, Darlene Smith and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Christina, Bradley, Alyssa, Saisha, Jefferey, Alexis, Nicholas, Gregory, and Jayna; siblings, Burnice Wilson and wife, Ann, Sue Moore and husband, Earnest, Dale Wilson and Joyce Burris. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
