Voter Registration Deadline

The deadline to register to vote in the election being held November 8th, is September 24th. The election being held in November includes several proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. And of great local interest, a bond election for Brownfield ISD will also be held that day.

In order to vote in either of these elections, you must be registered at least 30 days prior to the start of early voting. In these elections, early voting will start October 24th. Be sure you are registered in time to vote in this very important election.

The 10 amendments to be voted on include a variety of issues. There are some related to taxes, some related to education, one related to elections and several others. (See explanation of these in a related story in the near future)

The Brownfield ISD bond election is regarding using $4 million in bond monies to make school district facility improvements throughout the district. These monies are available through the bond market and are available due to the school district’s prudent use of funding. No taxes will be raised in order to secure this money. The district simply need the voters’ approval to go ahead with this plan. (See an explanation for this bond election in the near future)
