Terry County Fair scheduled Oct. 21-22
The time has come once again for the Terry County Fair, to be held at The Building, located at 305 South 5th Street.
The fair will be open Friday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 22, the event will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
The fair will include a wide variety of items to be judged, from agricultural products to textiles to creative arts and photography.
Participants of all ages are welcome to enter the various contests, and there is no charge for entries. Those wishing to enter items in the fair will do so on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m.-8p.m.
The various categories and their superintendents include:
Agriculture—Scotty Cooper and Mike Timmons; Antiques, Joyce Golden; China Painting, Freddie Tatum; Crafts-Hobbies-Holiday, Trudy Farr; Textiles, Kids Korner; Creative Arts, George Howle and Gary Rigdon; Fine Arts, Madolyn Noble; Golden Age, Melba White; Horticulture, Scotty Cooper and Mike Timmons; Photography, Darrell Miller; Quilts, Margaret Gober.
The Evening Lions will be hosting a pancake supper Oct. 22 beginning at 4 p.m. Also, a raffle will be held and various items will be given away throughout the fair.
“We would like to have everybody come out and view the exhibits. The volunteers put a lot of work into putting this show together, and we have many, many talented people who come and share their exhibits with us,” said Larry Gilbreath, President of the Terry County Fair Board.
Those interested in finding out more about the fair can pick up booklets free of charge at the Brownfield Chamber of Commerce and the Terry County Extension Office.
