Michael Montoya-New Attorney in Brownfield
Michael received his undergraduate degree in 1999 from Texas Tech University in chemistry, with a minor in math. He then attended law school at the University of Tulsa and graduated from there in 2005. After passing the bar exam, Michael opened a law practice in Lubbock. He then moved to Gun Barrel City, Texas, where he where he worked for Shackleford, Hawkins and Searcy, P.C.
Beginning in 2013, Michael moved back to Lubbock and joined Hamilton and Associates. Stephen Hamilton, president of Hamilton and Associates, is board-certified in criminal law, specializing in DWI.
In addition to Stephen Hamilton’s specialty, Michael Montoya, lead attorney for the Brownfield office, practices civil litigation, family law, personal injury, and probate law.
Michael is also a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trade Office, handling cases involving intellectual property, such as patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
Michael does not have a lot of time for his own hobbies and interests, but when he can he loves to visit comedy clubs. “I’ll even travel to Dallas or Houston to see a good comedy act.” He also enjoys shooting guns, skydiving, and travel, even though he doesn’t have many opportunities do that right now.
Michael is happy to be in Brownfield and wants to assist people in finding answers and solutions for their legal needs. He hopes that in serving his clients, they will know that they are receiving assistance from someone who personally cares about them and their legal affairs.
