Neonatony
I went to see the Thriving and Surviving Summer Camp Thursday and came away with a smile. Youngsters can, most of the time, be so full of neonatony (a coined term that means the joy of experiencing something new) that it makes me want to have that feeling again. Sometimes I’m so busy with life that I forget to take time to refresh and do something that allows me to have the “epiphany” or “lightbulb going off” sensation that make my endorphins rejoice.
The youngsters were so proud of the sun catchers they were painting that they bubbled over with excitement as they talked about what they had done. As soon as they finished one project, they were ready to start the next. Not like me who frequently goes “Whew! That task is over. Now let me rest for a while.” It was a simple project yet it gave them such satisfaction and left them wanting the next. Ah! Neonatony!
There are some pictures in our photo gallery section of these summer campers and, also, of the Meadow Bronco football team as they had practice at the Brownfield Family Aquatic Center. What a unique way to do to sizzling summer workouts. You’ll want to check those out.
Meanwhile, find something new, refresh yourself, and come away with an Ahhh moment, too. You’ll feel so much better if you do.
